“Hi, I ran across your inspiration boards when looking for bouquet and color ideas. I hadn’t really considered silk before, but you offer so many beautiful options! I am getting married on 9/25/10. My dress is ivory and the dresses are in David’s Bridal Lapis. I like the look of purple-on-purple, but also like the multicolored look of purple/orange/dark pink/yellow. I’d like to incorporate Bells of Ireland as filler, since my grandmother loved them. I plan to attach the bouquet/arrange the flowers on the bride’s bible my mom received 51 years ago from my dad on their wedding day, so I’m thinking a colorful bouquet of some kind is the way to go to avoid too much ivory. It is a smaller prayer book style bible that brides sometimes carried back in the 50s and 60s.
I’d love to see your ideas – I’m open to others than what I’ve mentioned because I’m sure there are lots I haven’t thought of. Thanks!
Susan, I created you inspiration board with the 2 different color combinations you were thinking about. I uses the bright bold colors on the top of the board and the softer shades on the bottom. Personally, I love both — hopefully seeing them next to each other will help you decide. For a simple but beautiful bouquet, for example if you went with the softer tones, you could always use 1 lavender rose or ivory dahlia as your main flower and add in a few bells of ireland. Hand-tie the bouquets and wrap a purple ribbon around the stems to complete the look. You could even accent the ribbon with pearl pins/ I hope this helps!
