Katie’s Red, Orange, and Yellow Wedding Inspiration Board

“My wedding will be October 2011. I am using reds, orange, and yellow. I want to mainly use gerbera daisies, sunflowers, and roses, but would like to know what “fillers” to use in my bouquets. I also need boutonnieres, and cake topper flowers. I want kissing balls as the pew decorations. Please help with other suggestions for filler flowers, and decorations. Thanks!

Katie, I created your inspiration board in shades of red, yellow, and orange. I used roses, gerbera daisies, sunflowers, calla lilies, and hydrangea. You could create your bouquet using any of the flowers from your board. The green hydrangea will be a great filler, and you can alos use the greenery from the flowers you’re using. You can also purchase our sunflower kissing ball or create your own using sunflowers or gerbera daisies! Also, if you use red and orange roses in the bouquets, use a single rose bud in these colors for the boutonnieres! For the cake? Why not make the flowers using roses, sunflowers, and gerberas, alternating the flower type. I hope this helps give you some ideas!

  1. I am using a lot of these same colors for my November 2010 wedding I was wondering if the color GUAVA for my bridesmaid dresses would match up with this color theme? When I looked online @ davids bridal favorite colors slideshow I chose the 4th set which I thought looked more orange than the Guava, but was assured it was the same color.. Please help. My other colors are yellow, orange, choc. brown and white. What color ribbon should be used on the
bouqeuts. If I chose yellow roses what about orange, brown ribbon?

  2. To make thiscolor scheme work for you — I think you'd have to add more peach and pink tones. Perhaps go with yellows, oranges/peaches, brighter pinks, and hints of brown. Use some brown in the flowers, or simply add a brown ribbon around the bouquet stems to bring in the color and accent the ribbon with white pearl headed pins.
