In case you missed Sunday evening’s broadcast of the 85th Academy Awards the web has been buzzing with recaps of the evening’s events. From the nominees, the red carpet arrivals, the presenters and entertainers, the winners and of course the best and worst dressed.
Oscar fashion is all about the glamour. Popular on this year’s red carpet were couture gowns, metallics, muted palettes and accessories.
Any of us can dream about capturing an ounce of the designer fashion seen on the red carpet for our wedding day. Bridal Guide contributor, Stefania Sainato, blogged on Huff Post Weddings “5 Wedding- Worthy Trends” from Oscar fashion.
Vintage decor and fashion have been popular wedding choices for brides going on several seasons now. This year’s peak in the vintage wedding trend focuses on 1920’s style. Sainato finds “Art Deco Drama” at the Oscars with Stacy Keibler in Naeem Khan and Halle Berry in Versace. “Great Gatbsy-inspired wedding gowns are everywhere lately- both Keibler and Berry’s sheaths are fit to perfection and show off their incredible physiques.”
Sainato notes Jessica Chastian and Reese Witherspoon are inspiration for vintage style, their “ultra romantic hairstyles” are beckoning Veronica Lake’s locks.
Another wedding trend highlighted by Sainato during Sunday evening’s red carpet arrivals were the muted tones of multiple ball gowns. She notes both Amanda Seyfriend in Alexander McQueen and Amy Adams in Oscar de le Renta. “Both actresses took a softer approach on the red carpet this year with ethereal hues that would be perfect for bridesmaids at a spring wedding.”
So what were some of your favorite Oscar fashion moments of this year? Have you found some bridal inspiration in the couture, vintage ball gowns? Maybe you’ve feel in love with the soft ethereal color palette or on the other spectrum the eye catching metallic tones?
