A romantic, beach wedding on the shores of Rhode Island sounds like a dream. DIY bride, Katie Richards, shares her wedding day with us. Using Afloral.com silk and dried flowers to make her wedding bouquets she was able to preserve a wedding day memory and create a lasting keepsake.
Russ and I wanted to have a wedding that was completely, authentically US. We didn’t want a lot of fuss. Simple, beautiful, romantic and intimate.
We both love creating memories and having keepsakes so having our wedding day florals from Afloral was a no brainer. I wanted to be able to choose the exact stems in my bouquets and make each one by hand.
I used some of my favorite flowers; silk peonies and dried protea. It was a beach wedding in September so I wanted the bouquets to feel beachy but also have an autumn vibe. The different styles of protea mixed with the real touch creamy white peonies were the perfect compliment with a few sprigs of silk eucalyptus and other dried greens. The cherry on top (for me) was the pheasant feathers, giving each bouquet the bohemian vibe that I love.
The bouquets went effortlessly with the floral bridesmaids dresses I chose and looked absolutely stunning on our home beach in Greenhill, Rhode Island.
