One of the best reasons for using faux flowers in your home is that they never die! You get the beauty of fresh without the care, and that can’t be beat. Especially when we start talking about decorating for the holidays. We can all agree that the holidays are when your house shines! It is also a time of year when spending can get out of control. That is where we enter… what if you could decorate your home for fall AND winter with the same flowers?! Not only that, what if those flowers could be used again next year, and the year after that…
This year we have partnered with three incredible home decorators to show you how you can take your artificial flowers from one season to the next. Check it out!
It’s easy for me since I start with a neutral pallet. My florals for fall are in their natural colors. So when I switch to winter, I take out the pumpkins, leaves, acorns, etc..
….and then add some glitz! The Winter to me is sparkly and snowy. So I add evergreen, pine, and juniper to my arrangements.
The florals and berries are dusted with snow, frost and glitter. I’ve used pink/blush for years. This year, I added mint to change it up. 2017 is all about red/crimson, pink/blush, forest green, and of course white!!!
And it doesn’t stop there! These flowers can easily decorate your home well into summer months!
Greenery, like seeded eucalyptus, is easily transitioned from one arrangement to another throughout the year. Add seasonal flowers and berries to a greenery garland to take it from Fall to Winter.
We simply cannot say it better than Holli does on her blog, Bees ‘n Burlap. One item of decor that I love to use, mix up and change out quite frequently are Flowers. I would love to use fresh ones but the reality is that they only look good for a short while. While I savor the fresh ones I get from time to time…I’m addicted to using really good Faux Flowers.
The lush greenery and real touch peonies used in this beautiful centerpiece were reworked into a mantle garland that is just too pretty to take down. (It’s good thing they are faux and she won’t have to!)
Peonies start blooming in April, but with fake flower you can use them in your home all year long! , Holli updated her peony arrangements for the changing seasons by replacing the pheasant feathers with frosted, white crabapples.
With artificial stems you have the options of using flowers that are out of season, saving your holiday flowers to use again the following year, and rearranging your designs throughout the year to create fresh looks. The benefits are many!
