Celebrity Wedding Styles to Steal

With Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello tying the knot recently and a new year of celebrity weddings right around the corner we are on a mission to get those drop dead wedding flowers on the cheap.

Let’s jump right in with the hottest newlyweds on the internet (or planet) and their stunning florals…

<<Pick jaw back up from floor>>
How can we mere mortals ever have a wedding like this…  Win the lottery?  Rob a bank?  Marry a royal?  How about sticking to your flower budget and doubling up on your favorites by going faux!

Do it yourself and you’ll save even more!  Create cascading floral arrangements with silk Phalaenopsis orchids, walk down an aisle lined in silk roses & petals, while carrying a faux orchid bouquet.

Next up on our tour of drool worthy weddings is Whitney Port and Tim Rosenman, whose November nuptials were a little bit boho, a little bit modern, and completely amazing.

This sleek updo with the fern hairpiece could be recreated for your wedding with a faux Boston fern bush.  Faux flowers and greenery are great for wedding hair because they will look fresh throughout your wedding day and you can make the hairpiece months before the wedding. You’ll even be able to bring it with your for your trial run.

Even those of us that haven’t been blessed with the crafty gene could create this look.  Line the aisle in clear glass cylinder vases of different heights and fill with pillar & floating candles.  Add some vase filler or floating flower heads to give it a little color.  This look is so chic and modern, a definite wedding do!

The Desiree Hartsock / Chris Siegfried wedding was much anticipated after watching them fall in love on The Bachelorette.

We were lucky enough to have our flowers featured at her bridal shower and couldn’t wait to see what she carried down the aisle.

Nicky Hilton and James Rothschild were married this year in a wedding fit for royalty.  The ceremony was held at Kensington Palace and the bride looked very much the part of a princess.

And how does any royal walk down the aisle?  With a stylish and sweet white wedding bouquet.

For a chance at having lily of the valley in your bouquet you should definetly consider faux.  It is affordable and much more durable so it will last through the wedding day.  Silk roses are also a great idea to beat the summer heat.

It is possible to create your fantasy wedding on a budget.  Silk flowers today are not the cheap, bargain bin stems of the past.  They are high-quality and will fool even the biggest silk flower sceptic.  You’ll feel A-list walking down the aisle with your Afloral flowers!

DIY Faux Foliage Wreath

To celebrate our new direct shipping to the UK we teamed up with London’s own silk flower designer Friend of Faux to create this gorgeous DIY .  Afloral silk flowers made the trip across the ocean and were turned into this amazing Faux Foliage Wreath.
Follow along with Friend of Faux and create your own!

You will need:
– A wreath frame or hula hoop.  I’ve used a hula hoop as I want to create a giant wreath for more impact but it’s up to you.
Wire cutters
Floral tape
Fishing wire
– A range of greenery – I’ve gone for a mix of silvery green foliage (eucalyptus, dusty miller, and lambs ear) along with some delicate Astilbe and Sedum for some detail.Step-2 copyMethod:
1. Wrap the floral tape around the entire hula hoop to create a neat green ring.  If you’re using a wire wreath frame, skip this step.Step 42. Using a nice mix of your foliage, make small bundles secured at the end with some floral tape. Step 33. Place on the hoop or frame and secure with tape.Step 54. Working in anti-clockwise motion, place another bunch on the hoop so it overlaps with the last. Keep doing this until you have covered the whole frame.Step 65. Once the wreath is full of foliage go in and add your detail pieces fanning out from the middle in opposite directions. The Astilbe is great for this and creates a fan-effect but you can use berries or flowers.Step 76. Tie a bow in the middle at the bottom to create a focal point and use fishing wire to secure your wreath to a door or wall.Step 8

Hang on your door for the holidays, decorate your home, or use as a backdrop at your wedding.  The gorgeous greenery will really bring life to your décor.

DIY Candle Ring Centerpiece

This week we found some inspiration while flipping through the pages of Bridal Guide.  We loved this beautiful candle ring so much we decided to get to work, but we went one step further!
dream-themes copyNow you can create a beautiful centerpiece that can be used for every event theme and every season.  Using a wreath form and silk hydrangeas make this DIY wreath that you can use as a door wreath for the holidays or as a candle ring for a table centerpiece.  Mix and match your favorite silk flowers for a one of a kind design.  QLA7h_pwUJuYRbsIqokgCvko4FNY3D4ESt1328rZ5gEGather your materials.  For the base of this centerpiece you will need silk hydrangeas.  We decided to mix it up with a variety of hydrangeas to give it some depth.  We choose to use the cream and green hydrangea bouquet, two of the hydrangea bushes in cream white, and two of the silk flower hydrangea bushes in cream white at 22 inches.  You can pick from any of our high-quality silk hydrangeas for your wreath. You will also need a wire wreath form, wire cutters, and floral tape.  For the center of the candle ring we used a hurricane vase and a pillar candlehFyAtUPN7172wJDlP7RulAxBlVJd_0dmcJXnQy0XFxgYour first step will be to clip the flower heads off of the bushes.  Leave about 2 inches of stem to tape to the wire form. bJRRSw952cDxhIJfaEKhcktv3FAlrTF8tWENYFC1h-oTake a moment and look at this gorgeous pile of hydrangea blooms!h0n7ty0YFvoHKzdwdeeFZy6BvMBvn3tLmctSVbBWBdsBegin taping the flower heads to the wire wreath form with foral tape.  We worked from the inner ring to the outer ring, going clockwise around the form.  Z_d_6E2oG_F27v0GTYmEfa0oFoEclJ_lHAzpeMXBM6kWe added all of the flowers from one bush first so that each of the different hydrangeas were evenly spaced around the wreath form. mXG1dyMCN3hKOBmYrXKRZyfJf1NVr4mCN_SZ7whVc_kIf you are using it as a candle ring all you need to do now is lay it in the center of your table, place the hurricane vase and pillar candle in the center, and you are done! KP7WQ-xcAlSzjzxYM9EjKF1DVln2ZZjaaolvHnU2RnQ copyK0mvf_AVS-YRdLofo4y6YG9roBeFCpvzhDAniO7vIQYBut we weren’t done!  We came up with a new look for each season, and one for the holidays.  First comes Spring… GU23rwoW6Drcp3PEhGE7pkdS23tzbSzK7s1dFjNSNjYSummer. ATAX0nF1YCfP3l9Z5M-X2R8jdM8jxq8PQfjYsyU734A copyFall.7Jc_qwuO7BBXdL4OsItOiXLfsCAAZDIMPMjf25xX-7o copyAnd winter!Ismvq_6U28eB_h4p2R_SJiwqlTLZMgZqEe8NLUfZ4uA copyEach of these are perfect for a season inspired wedding centerpiece.  Not planning a wedding?  Try this one for your holiday table!weJ6EHKyOOPRT0XMVVMVyrrO1rN5ShXbd65gYq_caWoIf you would like to turn this into a wreath all you need to do is tie a bow on it.sBF5orYBtoeOzXb-8TbV2flOcfm5N7M1TwBATvXYT7o,9xHKH0KAuQqTijdNwCr35z-SyXZEbrn6XWdcriN3JJcFor the candle rings we did not tape the additional flowers to the wreath form so that they could easily be switched out.  However, we recommend attaching the additional stems with tape if you are using it as a door wreath.  To find all of the stems and décor we used in our additional looks, go here.
