Five Must Have Items for a Rustic Wedding

As the weather gets warmer, we start to see a lot more rustic wedding inspiration. This theme definitely pairs well with a sunny outdoor ceremony, so if you’re planning a rustic wedding right now, don’t forget to add these five essential items to your shopping list.

Grapevine Balls

We love using these grapevine balls as a simple rustic wedding accent. Scatter them across the table, or fill one large cylinder glass vase with these natural beauties.

Mason Jars

Mason jars are so trendy this season, and we couldn’t agree more. Although we do sell mason jars in a plethora of colors, I suggest you keep your rustic wedding simple with the clear mason jar. Perhaps fill it with pink flowers or cream flowers for a more romantic look.

Lots of Burlap

Just when you thought more burlap wasn’t possible, they went ahead and made burlap flowers :) Who would’ve ever imagined that? Pair our burlap flowers with a scripted flower in your rustic wedding centerpiece. They compliment each other quite well.

Branches Galore

Not every DIY bride likes branches, but at a rustic wedding, they are an absolute necessity.  If you’re not too crazy about the whole “tree” look, just place one at your card table for a hint of natural. If you’re going more for rustic glam, spray paint the branch and voila! – fabulous.

Erica’s Fall Wedding Flower Inspiration Board

Erica writes:
“Hello, I’m getting married next October at my soon to be father-in-law’s house. We are getting married outside by the lake they own. We are having a causal wedding it is going be very small. I want to incorporate fall colors, my favorite flowers are gerbera daisies and sunflowers. My bridesmaids dresses are going be either black or brown, and the grooms men are going to wear shirts and ties and pants. I’m having a hard time coming up with some flower arrangement ideas. Please help me!!
Thanks a lot, Erica”

Erica, I created your inspiration board with flowers in red, orange, and yellow — the perfect fall colors! I think the bouquets and wedding arrangements would look beautiful made up with yellow sunflowers, red roses, and orange gerbera daisies. For the bouquets, wrap a black (or brown) satin ribbon around the bouquet stems to complete the look. For the centerpieces, why not add in some curly willow for added height and more of that “fall” look. I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Melody’s Red, Green, and Brown Wedding Inspiration Board

Melody writes:
“My wedding will be in the fall next year and I don’t know what to do! I like the idea of doing chocolate brown but can’t decide if I should use peach, sage green, or red. The girls will be in dark brown cocktail dresses, and the boys in brown sweater vests/sweaters with striped shirts and dark brown pants. My fiance will wear an actual suit in light brown. I want to use herbs if I go peach or green, or wheat and poppies if I do red. I just don’t know what to do with the colors and the time of year. any ideas? Thanks.”

Melody, I created your inspiration board with both color palettes you are interested in. Unfortunately, we don’t have all the exact products in the colors you are looking for, so I substituted — this will at least help you to see the colors together. Personally, I love the red and brown color palette! Using red poppies and brown gerbera daisies or hydrangeas (or both) accenting with wheat and wrapping a brown chiffon ribbon around the bouquet stems. It will give the bouquets a fall feel and still be so romantic! I hope this helps give you some ideas.
