Jennifer writes: I need help creating centerpieces for my wedding. I love hydrangea, roses, ranunculus, anemones.. My wedding colors are coral (more towards the pink, lighter shade), a blue that ranges from navy to a brighter blue and then ivory/white.
You can see in the example photo that they used a navy table cloth to bring in the blue! If that doesn’t work for you, you can always bring in blue by using blue vases (possibly painting mason jars navy), wrapping a blue ribbon around your centerpiece vases, or even sprinkling some blue anemones into the arrangement.
Inexpensive wedding decor items used the right way can create stunning reception table decorations. Little touches like deccor accents and votive candles can play a huge roll in bringing a table’s centerpiece look together.
Dress up reception table linens with the diamond table runner on long or round tables. Table runners measure 4.5″ wide by 5 yards long they can easily be trimmed to fit table measurements or let them hang slightly off the table. (Tip: use trimmed runner pieces to wrap vases or bouquets dressing up more inexpensive decor items)
Crushed acrylic glass can be added next. Scatter along the length of the table runner, some pieces falling off the runner. The beauty is in the randomness of this design.
Final step is to add the votive candles. The candles in this look pull everything together once lit the flames hitting against the faux diamond runner and acrylic glass create a glamorous play of light. Pair with lush faux flowers in your favorite hue and simple vases for a centerpiece arrangement.
Smart brides have to be crafty and crafty brides have to be smart to get the most out of their DIY wedding decorations. This easy DIY Glitz and Glamor Wedding Table Decor idea is the perfect example. Three inexpensive decor items styled the right way for a fabulous and glamorous wedding look.

Popular right now in the wedding world and seasonally are outdoor weddings. Hartman Studios gives brides two inspiration options for styling an outdoor, themed affair. The classically, romantic Scarlett O’Hara of Gone With the Wind or the whimsical, woodland Alice in Wonderland.
Scarlett O’Hara offers a forever, classic and romantic look with hedges, plants and trees lit with outdoor lanterns. Wedding flowers are classic, boldly red and full. The Alice in Wonderland is a bit more playful with a tea party set for family style seating and mismatched vintage settings, both trendy reception options.
Inspired by rocker Pink!, Hartman Studios glams up a pink and black wedding theme. Chic floral arrangements, trendy metallics and statement pieces like the screen and projector for music videos rock this theme. Wedding flowers are kept soft and feminine for a great juxtaposition against dark tones and sleek metallics in decor. Colored LED lightening is a trend must for this look.
One of this year’s hottest trends has to be 1920’s decor. Mary Crawley, of the popular Downtown Abbey series, vignette hits this look with rich textiles, china and glassware and ornate chandeliers and candle holders. Decor in gold and back keep decor classic yet still over the top as with ’20’s style.
This list goes on as Hartman Studio also highlights several modern fashion and movie goer themes. A true credit to their styling talent all showcased by engagednowwhat.com’s event access. Who was your favorite femme fatale? The outdoor classic, beauty of Scarlett O’Hara or fun, whimsical Alice? The glam of modern rocker Pink! or a touch of rich, ’20’s style? Personally I’d like to see what they’d do with one of my favorites like Audrey Hepburn for a classic, chic affair or something artsy like Georgia O’Keefe!
Being the last Saturday before Halloween everyone will have their festivities in full swing this weekend. Keeping with this “spook-tacular” weekend I pulled several fun Halloween inspired wedding photos.
Everyone has a different take and way they celebrate this annual holiday therefore I mixed it up with two very different takes on Halloween Wedding Inspiration Boards. Both capture the atmosphere of late Fall and Halloween in their own way.
Rustic Pumpkin Wedding
A simple, rustic style spiked with bountiful seasonal pumpkins is a beautiful, romantic take on a Halloween Wedding. Utilizing pumpkins, fall hues in wedding flowers and rustic, natural elements gives brides a more seasonal Autumn theme to a late October wedding.
The beauty of this wedding style is how the rustic styling comes across simple, not over worked or over thought out. Pumpkins are used in the right areas of decor with a hint of creativity in the use as place cards and name carvings. Other items like the tablescape are kept simple with a runner on bare table, individual place setting and pumpkins mixed in with wedding flowers for a centerpiece.
Find some inspiration for a darker take on Halloween with afloral.com’s Rock n’ Roll wedding theme. Deep red dahlias, crimson blood red roses, black feathers and jewel accents are a more edgy look. The roses and red wedding flowers give arrangements a classic touch of beauty while the feathers and black decor palette edge up your look with a touch of glam in jewel garland and votive candle holders.
Taking note from our Twilight Inspired Wedding Theme post: “Dimmed lighting is a must with scattered romantically lit candles in various heights and styles, stick, votive and tea lights. Twinkle lights strung through out decor will also help to set a romantic ambiance.”
Just For Fun
If you couldn’t think of a better time to incorporate trendy photo booths into your reception entertainment it would have to be a Halloween inspired wedding. Find fun props like fake mustaches, wigs, funny glasses and hats, also incorporate chalkboards or dry erase boards for guests to write you a message.

The Talk Around the Table
The black and white sphere centerpiece is a fresh, glamorous take on the traditional wedding centerpiece. Featured on Thursday’s how-to post, you can get a step by step guide how to create this DIY wedding project that will have everyone talking.
The mitsumata branches used in this centerpiece are 4 feet tall, adorned with silk floral black and white kissing balls and decorative pearl strands. A classic palette with a touch of glamour joined with the stature of the branches will look like you spent a fortune for custom wedding centerpieces. But to the delight of any budget bride you will rake in savings by using the right materials and making it yourself.
One last note on this gorgeous, glamorous centerpiece is that not only does its height work for aesthetic reasons, it is also practical because it will keep decor elements out of the eye level of guests as they are seated around the table – leaving them able to see one another and mingle throughout your reception.
Wedding accents like votive candles, twinkle lights, and draped tulle will complete your glamorous black and white wedding theme. Any bride will feel as though they captured their little girl dreams with this wedding theme; creating a beautiful fairy tale day to remember with a lot of style and an affordable budget.
