Lindsey’s Fall Wedding Flower Inspiration Board

Lindsey writes:
“HI!

I stumbled accross your website and love the color combinations you have chosen for other bride-to-be’s!

I am really struggling coming up with a theme, colors, etc for our October 23rd 2010 wedding. I think a good guidline to work with is the venue’s attributes – I don’t want to clash with what is already established! The ceremony will be outside in the courtyard and the reception will be inside both indoors and out on the patio.

I also would like to keep with the types of flowers that are in-season for October — I read that daisies are in…am I right? If so, perhaps they would be a good choice?

Lindsey”

Lindsey, what a beautiful wedding location! Okay, I kept your inspiration board simple with fall colors in softer and natural tones — this way the bouquets will look natural but beautiful and not compete with the gorgeous background of the wedding! Daisies are a great fall flower, so I did put those on your inspiration board along with roses (which are a popular, available, and pretty flower all year round). I used soft shades of green and yellow — which will go nicely with the natural setting. If you would like to brighten the bouquets up a bit, why not add a hint of orange by using orange poppies in the bouquets — poppies are another great fall flower as well! I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Kendra’s Chocolate Brown and Apple Red Inspiration Board

Kendra writes:
“I need some advice for wedding flowers. I would like to make my bouquets using calla lilies, hydrangeas, and stargazer lilies. My colors are an apple red and chocolate. My bridesmaids will be wearing apple dresses from davids bridal. Thank you.”

Kendra, I created your inspiration board with flowers in reds and browns, but unfortunately we do not have any stargazer lilies available in either color. I put a white lily as well as a green on your inspiration board. Since the lily is such a large and beautiful flower, you may only want 1-2 in the bouquets. If you need this, a contrasting color such as the white or green would be stunning. For the rest of the bouquet, you could make them using brown roses, red calla lilies, and red hydrangeas. I hope this helps!

Layla’s Baby Blue and Latte Brown Wedding Inspiration Board

Layla writes:
“Hello,
My name is Layla and I need ideas for my wedding in March 2010.
The wedding colors are baby blue and chocolate. My dress is ivory. My fiance and the groomsman will wear chocolate tuxes with latte color accents with ivory shirts. The hall for the wedding/reception is goldenrod yellow with burgundy red curtains. I am also going with an Oriental theme with my reception but I’d like to keep it simple. What do you recommend?
Thank you,
Layla”

Layla, I created your inspiration board with flowers in light blue, brown, and shades of ivory. If you wanted to add a splash of color, why not bring some of the reception hall colors into the bouquets? Yellow would be a beautiful and bright accent color to the wedding arrangements. For the bouquets, why not create them using the brown ranunculus, beige magnolia, cream orchid, blue hydrangeas, and yellow lilies? The yellow lilies will really make the bouquets stand out! I hope you like your board!

Jannie’s Burnt Orange and Blue Wedding Inspiration Board

Jannie writes:
“I would like an inspiration board, my wedding colors are blue and burnt orange. I don’t have a wedding dress but I would like a two-piece gown: jacket or coat is to have a stand up collar with three buttons closure. The skirt or dress is to be a figure fit and touch the floor.
Thanks,
Jannie”

Jannie, I created your inspiration board with different flower types in blues and burnt oranges. For the bouquets, why not create them with amber magnolias, amber peonies, and blue hydrangea accents. You could also wrap a blue ribbon around the bouquet stems to bring more blue into the arrangements. If you still haven’t found your wedding gown, you could always take a look at Dessy (www.dessy.com), they have some amazing dresses available! I hope this helps give you some ideas.

Heather’s Horizon Blue and Clover Green Inspiration Board

Heather writes:
“My name is Heather. I am planning a June 2011 wedding. I have 3 different styles for bridesmaid dresses in horizon blue and clover green all from david’s bridal. My Maid of Honor will be in a blue dress with a green sash, while the other bridesmaids will be in a green dress with a blue sash. I want to include white roses in my bouquet, but don’t have to have them for the bridesmaids. I’m not sure what type of flowers I should use except for roses, as this is my middle name and has always been a must have for my wedding! Thank you for your help!”

Heather, I created your inspiration board with a few different flower types in greens and blues — and made sure to include the white roses!! I think the bouquets would look very pretty made up of white roses (open and buds), green bells of ireland, blue roses, and green hydrangea accents. The white roses mixed in with the blue and green flowers will be really stunning! You can finish the look by adding a beautiful blue ribbon around the bouquet stems and accent with green pins. I hope this helps!
