Kathie’s Navy Blue Wedding Inspiration Board

“Our daughter is getting married in Sept 2010 in the mountain of NC. She has picked her main color to be navy blue. We thought about adding some burnt orange, greens (not emerald or anything as bright as lime green). Do you have another reccomendation for accents colors. We read about beige and brown, but wonder if it’s too drab. Plum maybe?
Please help!!
I love the idea of silk flowers.
Kathie”

Kathie, I created your inspiration board using all of the colors you mentioned in your email. I actually like a few of the ideas, but I put them all on there so you could pick what you liked best. I suppose it really depends what over look you are trying to achieve. If you went with blue, ivory, and deep purples — it will be very pretty and a little more classic. You could of course pump up the color by going with blue and orange — a really bold and contrasting look. Green is also a wondering accent to the dark blue color. Any combination of the flowers on the inspiration board will be beautiful. I hope this helps give you some ideas!

“HELLO AFLORAL
MY NAME IS SHANAE AND I NEED HELP ON THE FLOWERS FOR MY WEDDING WHICH IS IN OCTOBER AND MY COLOR IS AUBERGINE(DEEP PURPLE) AND PLATINUM(SILVER). ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED THANKS AGAIN
SHANAE”

Shanae, I created your inspiration board with flowers in purple and gray/silver. I also included some greens in the mix in case you wanted to add another color. I think the bouquets would look very pretty made up with purple anemone, snapdragon, and gerbera daisies, with silver gray peonies and eucalytpus accents. Wrap a silver or deep purple around the bouquet stems to finish the look. I hope this helps!

Steph’s Cobalt Blue and White Wedding Inspiration Board

Steph writes:
“Hi there;

My name is Stephanie and I am totally stuck when it comes to choosing flowers and complimenting colours for my June wedding.
I know that I would like to use white and cobalt/royal blue. I know that I would really like to use white cala lillies. I am trying to keep a “natural look” in theme and colours for my wedding but I’m finding just the blue and white to be too bland for my taste. I like to be a little edgey and unique. Please help!

Stephanie”

Stephanie, I created your inspiration board with flowers in blue, white, as well and pink and yellow accent colors. Both the pink and yellow are nice bold colors that look great with cobalt blue! For the bouquets, why not create them using white roses, white calla lilies, blue hydrangea, and yellow or pink stargazer lilies. You wouldn’t have to use many lilies, even 1 or 2 would be sufficient, but they would really make the bouquets “pop,” especially next to the blue dresses! You could then wrap a blue ribbon (or ribbon the same as your accent color), around the stems to complete the look. I hope you like your inspiration board!

Jamie’s Plum, Ivory, and Lilac Wedding Inspiration Board

“Hi, my name is Jamie and I am getting married on May 22, 2010. I am having a hard time trying to chose flowers for my table centerpieces. I really don’t have a theme for my wedding, but I do know that I want it to be elegant. My colors are plum & silver with touches of lilac and a light ivory. I am having dark purple table runners, so I am kinda skeptical about also using darker flowers. . .not sure if that will be too much purple. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Jamie”

Jamie, I created your inspiration board with flowers in purple, lilac, and ivory. I think as long as you make your centerpieces with both light and dark flower colors, the deep purple won’t be too overwhelming. I think for the bouquets and centerpieces, a combination of vanilla cream roses, eggplant anemone, and lilac hydrangea would be beautiful. If you are still afraid it’s too dark, you could go with vanilla roses, lilac snapdragons, and purple hydrangea as an accent. Wrap the bouquet stems with a silver ribbon to complete the look. I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Nicola’s Sapphire Blue and White Wedding Inspiration Board

“Hi there!

I am getting married on 21 May 2010, and having an outdoor beach themed wedding – the colours are blue and white with silver accents. My ‘intended’ dress is diamond white taffeta, with a silver broach accent at the waist, the bridesmaid dresses are sapphire blue and the groom & groomsmen are wearing sapphire blue waistcoats. I would like some inspiration regarding both mine and the bridesmaid’s bouquets, perhaps contrasting blue with white for me and white with blue for the bridesmaids? Flowers that would work well for all bouquets/boutonnières in some form or other would be great!!

Thanks so much!
Nicola”

Nicola, I created your inspiration board with flowers in blues and white with silver ribbon. I think the bouquets would look beautiful made up with white roses, lily of the valley, and blue hydrangea. You can always add a little more blue hydrangea or even blue roses to your bouquet to make it more colorful. Wrap a siilver ribobn around the bouquet stems to make them all match and bring in the silver. I hope this helps!
