Jillian’s Sangria and Fall Color Wedding Inspiration Board

Jillian writes:
“Hi there! I love your inspiration board! I have seen so many wonderful ideas for flowers and would love your opinion for my wedding this September 2010.

The girls are all wearing sangria from David’s Bridal. I love the sangria color for the fall and would love to include other colors into the bouqets to make them “pop” maybe purples, greens, yellows and even orange? I would love to see the ideas you come up with.

I kinda like the look of a medium to larger bouqet for my girls and a slightly larger bouqet for myself so if you could also tell me how many flowers you recommend of each that would be great. Thanks again for all your help…I am excited to see what you create :)

Thank you so much!
Jillian”

Jillian, I created your inspiration board in all the colors you suggested as well as a few that match the sangria colored dresses. I think this is a beautiful color palette — bright violet/sangria, orange, yellow, and green — all bold fall colors that look gorgeous together! You really could do any combination of the flowers on your board, but how about making the bouquets with orange roses, green spider dahlia, violet dahlia, and yellow blossom accents. For the bridesmaids bouquets, to be a larger bouquet use roughly 10-12 open bloom flowers (not including the smaller accent flowers should you use them). For your bouquet, you can double the amount, or go a bit smaller by using 16-18 full bloom flowers. I hope this helps!

  1. i like the colors of fall, the combinations are great. As being a synesthesian artist I live a life in colors. Synesthesia means that I see colors when I see words and numbers.I transform this in paintings of names and birthdays.

  2. I really am in love with this color combinations. I was wondering if these colors would be good for summer also. I am getting married July 3, 2011. I am using the David's Bridal sangria color for my bridesmaid because it is beautiful and was thinking about using a light/bright orange, yellow, lime green, and a light/bright pink in flowers and some decorations. Any suggestions???

    1. I love the sangria color and think it would go just fine with a summer wedding! I also love the idea of pairing the sangria with flowers in orange and bright green. This combination will make it even more summery and really "pop" against the bridesmaids dresses! You could even bring in hints of fuchsia. Take a look at these boards for some flower ideas:

  3. Hi! I am the matron of honnor for my cousins wedding. She has changed her color scheme a few times and I wanted to see what you think. Her wedding is Oct. 2011, so fall colors is what I suggested. We chose a sangria dress from David's Bridal and are having trouble deciding what other color scheme. She wants to incorporate chocolates and khakis. In my opinion, there needs to be more colors and I can't find any pictures to help me see what this combonation will look like together. Please help me give her more ideas to go along with the colors she has chosen. Thanks so much!!!

    1. The color you chose are perfect for a fall wedding. The Sangria will look great with the chocolate/khakis. You can add variations of the colors but you have to be careful. Too many colors sometime make it harder to make everything coordinate properly together. 4. Hi, I am also having a fall wedding, oct 2012. My bridesmaids are wearing the sangria color as well but im having trouble picking my linen and decorations for my reception. I was thinking green but I been help. Can you suggest something please! Thank you

    1. Brenda, The sangria is a dramatic color. White/Ivory table linens, depending on the color of your wedding dress, would be a good choice. That would leave your table neutral to add Centerpieces, Rose Petals & more. Check out our Wedding Design Ideas for more helpful information. I would stick with a muted green like moss or sage green as an accent color. Thanks Mindy
