Fall Wedding Cakes – Decorating with Silk Flowers

Wedding cakes are becoming a huge part of your bridal budget.  The more realistic the edible flowers are, the more you will spend on the cake.  Here are a few alternatives that provide you with a realistic floral look that is beautiful and affordable.

This simple three-tiered cake features bright Gerbera Daisies, Sunflowers and Mums all in fall colors. The bride chose to use the gerberas as a cake topper instead of the traditional bride and groom.  Also they accented the bottom tier with the same assorted fall silk flowers.

Fall leaves & artificial berries are the focal point on this Autumn cake.  Again this bride chose a simple three-tiered cake and let the fall foliage be the focal point with a simple cluster of berries for a topper. They also placed small pumpkins and gourds along the tiers of the cake and table.

Brides are choosing to use cupcakes instead of the traditional wedding cake.  You can choose a variety of flavors & frosting and they allow you to add your own personal style to the wedding.  This bride chose a huge array of fall flowers, fruits and leaves.  She weaved all of these goodies around the cupcakes and made a spectacular focal point to her table.

For our last look, we chose a silk flower topper make by an Etsy Artistist, It Tops The Cake. You can keep your cake simple and use this elegant silk floral topper as the centerpiece.  It features silk Gerbera Daisies, Greenery, Artificial Berries and Floral Ribbon.  All of the work is done for you and you just have to add the topper to the cake.

All of the above looks can be coordinated to your wedding color scheme by matching the silk flowers, greenery and ribbon.  As always, if you need any help in designing your own wedding look, please contact me at mindy@afloral.com.
