“I am planning a church wedding for April 10, 2010. My colors are green (fern) and blue (pastel), with silver as an accent color. I love hydrangeas and want to incorporate them throughout my wedding/reception. What flowers can I use to complement the green and/or blue hydrangeas?
Thanks!”

Edie, I created your board using hydrangeas in a few different shades of blue and green as well as a few other flower types. I think your bouquets would look great made up with either the green roses or dahlies, turquoise gerbera daisies, and both a blue and green hydrangea. To finish it off why not wrap a blue ribbon around the bouquet stems and accent that with green pins. I hope you like your inspiration board!

Vanessa’s Delphinium Blue, Gold, and Ivory Inspiration Board

“I’m getting married and December 19th 2009 and I want the perfect winter wedding bouquet. We’re holding it at my mothers house because she has a gorgeous staircase and vaulted ceiling living room and I’ll be coming down the stairs. My colors are ivory, gold, and splashes of a royal blue, think delphinium blue. I’ve pretty much got everything buttoned up except for the flowers. My dress is long and embelished with embroidery and I’ll be wearing a tiara. I want something simple yet princess like. Please help me choose some flowers! I’ve watched a ton of your how to videos and I love your site, I just need a little guidance!
Thank you!
Vanessa Parnell

Vanessa, I created your board using Delphinium Blue Hydrangeas and Irises, and Ivory Roses, along with accents in gold. I think it would look simply elegant to creat your bouquet using the blue hydrangeas along with the ivory open roses, and rose buds. You could also add in the irises if you would like more selection of flowers in your bouquet. Why not finish the bouquet off with ivory ribbon and gold pins, and using the gold curly ting to accent your gold while giving your bouquet that “extra something”. The hyrdrangea garland would look stunning wrapped around the staircase, you could also wire in ivory roses to tie it all together! I hope this helps!

Lauren’s Marine Blue, White, and Silver Inspiration Board

Lauren writes:
“Hello!
I happened to stumble upon your website and I think your inspiration boards are so cute! I am hoping you can help me get inspired as well :) I am having a winter wedding in December 2010 and my colors are marine blue and silver. I really don’t know much about flowers, but I would love simple floral bouquets that can be jazzed up with beautiful accents. My bridesmaids will be in marine blue dresses of different syles with silver accents.
Thank you for your time and creativity!
-Lauren”

Lauren, I created your inspiration board with flowers in white and blue as well as silver accents. I think your bouquets would look beautiful (as well as winter-y) made up of white roses, white amaryllis, the light blue hydrangea, and accent with white wisteria or white sparkle gyp (either of these will bring a nice winter feel to the bouquets). You could then wrap a blue ribbon around the bouquet stems to bring out the blue a bit more. To add in the silver, you could accent the ribbon with silver pins — or even add a silver glittered beaded ball pick or 2. I hope you like your inspiration board!

Blue, Pink, and White Inspiration Board

In CategoryPink & Fantastic Fuchsias, Seaside Blues, Whites & Ivories
ByLeAnne

“I am having trouble choosing the color of dress for my daughter and hope by choosing my flowers first will help influence my decision. I love hydrangeas in pink and blue and white. I love white roses. The men will be wearing black tuxes. I am concerned because my dress is silver and the guys in black that there will not be enough color. I am thinking of pink and white and maybe blue for flowers but would love your opinion. Thank you for your help!”

I created this inspiration board using a mix of blues, pinks and whites. I think that you could create your bouquet with the blue, pink, and white hydrangeas, as well as mixing in the roses in other shades of the same colors. It would bring in the color that you are looking for! Also, why not finish the bouquet off with silver ribbon and black pins to tie in your dress and the tuexes — it would look stunning! I hope you like your board!

Erin’s Cornflower Blue, Emerald Green, and Brown Inspiration Board

In CategoryChocolate Palettes, Citrus & Sunset Colors, Going Green, Seaside Blues
ByLeAnne

Erin writes:
“Hi LeAnne!

I was referred to your website by a coworker of mine, and I absolutely love it!! There is so much inspiration here, and was hoping you could come up with some suggestions. I’m having a rustic country themed wedding June 2010, and the colors are cornflower blue, canary yellow, emerald green, with accents of brown. I would like to incorporate sunflowers and gerberas with raffia and wheat. I’m also looking to add some pop to the flowers by maybe including fuchsia. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!

Erin”

Erin, I created your inspiration board with flowers in green, brown, blue, yellow, and fuchsia. I tried to select flowers that were a bit more rustic feeling. In my opinion, the fuchsia would make the bouquets “pop,” but I think the bouquets would look better with just the main colors of your wedding. The yellow flowers will add that bright splash of color. For the bouquets, why not create them using the blue and green cosmos, brown spider gerbera daisy, and yellow sunflowers. Then you could tie natural raffia around the stems to complete the look. I hope this helps!
