Cat’s Purple and Grey Wedding Inspiration Board

Cat writes:
“Hello, Hello!

As a newly engaged bride, the first thing I’m thinking is COLOR, COLOR, COLOR! I’m pretty sure my fiance and I are going to go with a deep purple and a brushed silver, possibly a grey, for our colors. Not sure what to do for our flowers, though. Is that enough color right there? Should we add a third color for style?

Thanks!
Cat”

Cat, adding another color is completely up to you, but I happen to like the purple and silver/grey just by themselves! I created your inspiration board with flowers in these colors, but also added a lavender purple and blue as well. Both colors that match and would work well with your palette. I think the bouquets though, would look great made up with a few different purple flowers and either the silver grey peony or the grey pussy willow branches as accents. You could always use silver sparkle ting as accents as well. I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Carly’s Black, Purple, and Green Wedding Inspiration Board

Carly writes:
“Hello,
This might sound odd but for my wedding my colors were originally going to be black purple and green. But i’ve been thinking and I really love cherry blossoms. But the problem is that I am not the biggest fan of pink. I need some other flowers or a way to use cherry blossoms with not so much pink. I’m thinking black and green could possibly be involved. Or even purple. Any help you could give me would be great! Thanks!!
Carly”

Carly, unfortunately we only have cherry blossoms in pink and white, however we do have a gorgeous green apple blossom — and they are so close in appearance! You could also always purchase white/cream cherry blossoms and spray them a different color with silk flower spray paint (easy to use and looks great)! Then, you could go with the purple, green, and black them. For the bouquets, why not make them using green roses and blossoms, eggplant anemone (great with the black centers), and black feather accents! I hope this helps give you some ideas.

Philis’s Aubergine, Dusty Pink, and Berry Inspiration Board

Philis writes:
“Hello

I am getting married in Tuscany in spring. Your inspiration boards have really helped me think through colours in the planning process. I am having 7 bridesmaids, 3 in aubergine, 2 in dusky pink and 2 in berry which with the fabric I have chosen all tone in together.

I love softer flowers like peonies, open roses, anemones etc and would really appreciate some advice on how to pull together the different colours both for my bouquet and something that will work for my bridesmaids.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!
Kind regards,
Philis”

Philis, I created your inspiration board with different flower types in deep purple, dusty rose pink, and berry pink. I think the bouquets would look absolutely gorgeous made with the rose cream peony, light pink roses, mauve pink hydrangea, and eggplant purple anemone as accents! You can always make your bouquet bigger than the bridesmaids, or add a different flower to your (perhaps the fuchsia cream peony or lilac blossoms). Wrap the stems with a soft pink satin ribbon and accent with ivory pins to finish the look and add a bit more romance to the bouquets. I hope this helps!

Melissa’s Victorian Lilac Purple Wedding Inspiration Board

Melissa writes:
“Hi,
I was so excited when I found your site! I have a wedding coming up soon! It will be Apr. I will only have one maid of honor, my daugher. We are not having a large wedding, but I want it to look nice. We’d like to have the wedding outside, but have a backup plan in case we have to move it inside. It’s so hard to tell what flower shades really look like on the computer. Can you please help?
Thanks so much,
Melissa”

Melissa, I created your inspiration board with flowers in lavender and cream that match the dresses. I also included a green and pink as well, just in case you wanted to add in another color. I think the bouquets would be beautiful created with roses, dahlia, day and calla lilies. Perhaps the lavender open roses and buds, periwinkle dahlia, pink calla lilies, and cream day lily accents. Stunning! You can also wrap a ribbon around the bouquet stems to complete the look. I hope this helps.

Jillian’s Sangria and Fall Color Wedding Inspiration Board

Jillian writes:
“Hi there! I love your inspiration board! I have seen so many wonderful ideas for flowers and would love your opinion for my wedding this September 2010.

The girls are all wearing sangria from David’s Bridal. I love the sangria color for the fall and would love to include other colors into the bouqets to make them “pop” maybe purples, greens, yellows and even orange? I would love to see the ideas you come up with.

I kinda like the look of a medium to larger bouqet for my girls and a slightly larger bouqet for myself so if you could also tell me how many flowers you recommend of each that would be great. Thanks again for all your help…I am excited to see what you create :)

Thank you so much!
Jillian”

Jillian, I created your inspiration board in all the colors you suggested as well as a few that match the sangria colored dresses. I think this is a beautiful color palette — bright violet/sangria, orange, yellow, and green — all bold fall colors that look gorgeous together! You really could do any combination of the flowers on your board, but how about making the bouquets with orange roses, green spider dahlia, violet dahlia, and yellow blossom accents. For the bridesmaids bouquets, to be a larger bouquet use roughly 10-12 open bloom flowers (not including the smaller accent flowers should you use them). For your bouquet, you can double the amount, or go a bit smaller by using 16-18 full bloom flowers. I hope this helps!

Green Spider Dahlia, Yellow Sunflower, Yellow Blossoming Spray, Violet Phalaenopsis Orchid, Eggplant Gerbera Daisy, Green Gerbera Daisy, Orange Open Rose, Violet Dahlia.

Cissie’s Lapis Purple and Marine Blue Wedding Inspiration Board

Cissie writes:
“Hi Ma’am.
I’m getting married 4SEP10 and still hazy on floral arrangements. Our colors are lapis and marine. I know that I want lilies in the arrangement as tigerlilies are my favorite flower. It is a outdoor wedding in the morning in front of a small waterfall. Thanks for any help.”

Cissie, I created your inspiration board mostly with flowers in purple and blue. Since we unfortunately don’t have any lilies available in those colors, I added a cream lily as well as a green one. Both colors will work well with purple and blue, and this way you can see the 2 options. For the bouquets, why not make them using purple roses and iris, blue anemone, and accent with the lilies. The cream lily will really stand out and look gorgeous against the darker colors. I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Dresses from David’s Bridal. Items used to create Cissie’s Lapis Purple and Marine Blue Wedding Inspiration Board from Afloral.com (clockwise starting at top left):

Purple Iris, Premium Purple Open Rose, Cream White Open Rose, Cream Tiger Lily, Blue Anemone, Green Day Lily, White Triple Pearl Pins, Premium Blue Rose.

Yvonne’s Ivory, Chocolate Brown, and Eggplant Purple Inspiration Board

Yvonne writes:
“I would like some suggestions with what to order for my wedding on May 22, 2010. My dress is sandy in color and my attendants are wearing chocolate halter dresses. I would love to have gerbera daisies in eggplant; also really like either cream coloured calla lillies or orchids but don’t know where to go from there. Not sure if you would be able to incorporate the chocolate in with that but if you can’t that is alright.”

Yvonne, I created your inspiration board with flowers in brown, ivory, and eggplant purple — being sure to include the eggplant gerbera daisy. I think the bouquets would look great made up with roses, gerbera daisies, calla lilies, and orchid accents. You can make them using flowers in ivory and eggplant, or even all 3 — ivory, eggplant, and browmn (which I think looks very beautiful). Perhaps make them using beige roses, brown calla lilies, eggplant gerbera daisies, and eggplant orchid accents. I hope this helps!

Items used to create Yvonne’s Ivory, Chocolate Brown, and Eggplant Purple Wedding Inspiration Board from Afloral.com (clockwise starting at top left):

Brown Open Rose, Ivory Triple Pearl Pins, Brown Chiffon Ribbon, Vanilla Rose Bud Boutonnire (coming soon!), Eggplant Mini Phalaenopsis, Cream Phalaenopsis Orchid, Eggplant Gerbera Daisy, Brown Burgundy Calla Lily, Cream Calla Lily, Eggplant Calla Lily, Beige Open Rose.
