Lindsey’s Fall Wedding Flower Inspiration Board
Lindsey writes:
“HI!
I stumbled accross your website and love the color combinations you have chosen for other bride-to-be’s!
I am really struggling coming up with a theme, colors, etc for our October 23rd 2010 wedding. I think a good guidline to work with is the venue’s attributes – I don’t want to clash with what is already established! The ceremony will be outside in the courtyard and the reception will be inside both indoors and out on the patio.
I also would like to keep with the types of flowers that are in-season for October — I read that daisies are in…am I right? If so, perhaps they would be a good choice?
Lindsey”
Lindsey, what a beautiful wedding location! Okay, I kept your inspiration board simple with fall colors in softer and natural tones — this way the bouquets will look natural but beautiful and not compete with the gorgeous background of the wedding! Daisies are a great fall flower, so I did put those on your inspiration board along with roses (which are a popular, available, and pretty flower all year round). I used soft shades of green and yellow — which will go nicely with the natural setting. If you would like to brighten the bouquets up a bit, why not add a hint of orange by using orange poppies in the bouquets — poppies are another great fall flower as well! I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Kendra’s Chocolate Brown and Apple Red Inspiration Board
Kendra writes:
“I need some advice for wedding flowers. I would like to make my bouquets using calla lilies, hydrangeas, and stargazer lilies. My colors are an apple red and chocolate. My bridesmaids will be wearing apple dresses from davids bridal. Thank you.”
Kendra, I created your inspiration board with flowers in reds and browns, but unfortunately we do not have any stargazer lilies available in either color. I put a white lily as well as a green on your inspiration board. Since the lily is such a large and beautiful flower, you may only want 1-2 in the bouquets. If you need this, a contrasting color such as the white or green would be stunning. For the rest of the bouquet, you could make them using brown roses, red calla lilies, and red hydrangeas. I hope this helps!

Lindsey’s Brown, Champagne, and Burnt Orange Inspiration Board
Lindsey writes:
“I would like a wedding inspiration board with the three colors: Brown, Champagne, and Burnt Orange.
Thanks,
Lindsey”
Lindsey, I created your inspiration board using the 3 colors you requested. I think wedding bouquets would look great made up of the brown ranunculus, orange calla lilies, and champagne roses. Tie a brown ribbon around the bouquet stems and accent with ivory or orange pins to finish the look. I hope this helps.

Chelsey’s Apple Red and Orange Wedding Inspiration Board
Chelsey writes:
“Hello, my name is Chelsey, and I am getting married in November 2011. I am looking for ideas for my bouquets, boutonnieres, and some arrangements for the church. My bridesmaids will be wearing apple red from David’s Bridal.
Thank you so much for your help!
Chelsey”
Chelsey, I love the picture of the bouquets you sent — they really are eye catching! I created your inspiration board using flowers that are shown in these bouquets as well as a few others. To get this look you can create your bouquets with orange or red roses, red rose buds, orange lilies, orange calla lilies, and accent with either blue cornflower or violet wisteria — both are smaller flowers but will give you that “pop” of color. I hope you like your board!

Lesley’s Champagne and Cognac Wedding Inspiration Board
Lesley writes:
“Hello,
The wedding is August 14, 2010. The main flower I wanted to use are calla lilies, however I am open to other options. Interesting in what centerpiece ideas you have as well as bouquets.
Thanks
Lesley”
Lesley, I created your inspiration board using flowers in amber, orange, cream, and touches of brown. I made sure to put calla lilies on the board, but also included some roses and peonies — both flowers that will compliment the callas nicely. For the bouquets, why not create them using the vanilla roses, amber peonies, and calla lilies in the brown burgundy and cream. You could then incorporate all these flower types into your centerpieces. Use some tall thin vases for the calla lily flowers, and arrange the peonies and roses together in a short, round arrangement. I hope this gives you some ideas.
Dress from David’s Bridal.

Melissa’s Olive Green and White Wedding Inspiration Board
Melissa writes:
“Hi LeAnne!
My wedding is going to be mid October 2010. The color we’ve chosen is olive. I haven’t picked out the dresses yet, I just have an idea. I know I want white daisies but not gerbera daisies. We don’t want to use roses. I’ve included a picture that I found which is the closest to what I like but I’m just not sure yet if it’s the “perfect” one for me. First, I can’t figure out what else is in the bouquet besides daisies, and I’m not sure if I want more color in it to compliment fall. Any ideas would be appreciative!
Thanks, Melissa”
Melissa, I created your inspiration board with white daisies and a few green flower accents. I know you mentioned that you didn’t want gerbera daisies, so I put a farmhouse daisy bush on your board. I also included a spider gerbera daisy — although it is a gerbera, it is very different from the regular gerbs and I though it might work for you. As for accent flowers — why not use a small green flower that matched the dresses and also include another flower type that is eggplant purple or orange in color? This will help bring in the fall look as well as make the bouquets that out a bit more. Either a mini orchid or mini poppy would work nicely. I hope this helps!

Orange and Red Wedding Inspiration Board
“I am in need of a bouquet (for bride) in roses and calla lillies, tied with ribbons and wrapped stems in shades of oranges to deep almost red between the roses and calla lillies. Her dress is champagne. I will also need a bouquet for the maid of honor who is wearing shades of brown that will look decent with the brides. Can you people help me? A picture of colors would be appreciated.”
I created this inspiration board with roses and calla lilies in various shades of oranges and reds, including a nice orange-red color called flame.
