LeighAnne’s Wine, Pink, and Green Wedding Inspiration Board

LeighAnne writes:
“Hi LeAnne

My wedding is going to be in mid October 2010. I have chosen the bridesmaids dresses from David’s bridal in the color wine. I’d like my fiance and the groomsman to wear brown with wine color accents. I don’t know if I should add an additional accent color. Also, I am not sure if I should select flowers that are eggplant, plum, or burgundy to match the color wine. I’d like to keep it simple. My dress is quite simple and it is ivory.

Thanks!
LeighAnne”

LeighAnne, I created your inspiration board flower flowers in shades of eggplant and violet that are closer to a wine color. I also included brown, green, and a light pink — any of which will make great accent colors. Since your wedding is in October, I would suggest using a wine color, brown, and green flowers. You could make your bouquets using the brown and eggplant ranunculus, green roses, and violet gerbera daisies. To finish them off you could accent the stems with brown ribbon and green pearl pins. I hope this helps give you some ideas.

Jennifer’s Cream, Burgundy, and Black Wedding Inspiration Board

Jennifer writes:
“Hi,

I saw your inspiration boards and hope you can help me out with some great floral ideas for my wedding. My fiancee and I are getting married in South Lake Tahoe in April of next year. We’re having a small semi-formal wedding. We’ve chosen black and cream with burgundy as an accent color as I am trying to go for a more vintage look. Thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks again,
Jennifer”

Jennifer, I created your inspiration board with mostly cream colored flowers. I made to include a few burgundy ones and black accents as well. I think your bouquets would look beautiful made up with the cream and burgundy peonies, cream roses, and cream hydrangeas. If the burgundy peonies are too large, you could use the burgundy orchids instead. To add in the black, why not wrap the bouquet stems with a black satin ribbon. I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Emily’s Dark Purple and Yellow Wedding Inspiration Board

Emily writes:
“I would love to see if you are able to put together a board for me. My colors are deep purple and sunny yellow. I want calla lilies and reagular lilies for sure! Thank you so much!
Emily”

Emily, I created your inspiration board using flowers in yellow and 2 different shades of dark purple — a regular purple and a violet/plum color (I wasn’t sure which tone of purple you were using)! For the bouquets, why not create them using the yellow lilies and calla lilies, as well as the purple peony. You could even accent the bouquet with purple hydrangea clusters. I hope this helps!

Kristen’s Watermelon Pink, Green, and Yellow Inspiration Board

Kristen writes:
“Hi!

I’m getting married in May 2010. My bridesmaids have short, halter watermelon pink dresses from David’s Bridal. They are wearing black peep-toe shoes and the groomsmen are wearing solid black. I LOVE sunflowers, but am not sure of how to incorporate the bright yellow with the pink. Any ideas? I could not com up with any with these two drastic bright colors. I know that the sunflowers are a little more budget friendly, so I wanted to try those. I’m open to sunflowers and any pink/green/black/white mixture. For the reception, we are thinking limes or green apples in cylinder vases with pink hydrangea on the top. Or, if we go with sunflowers, galvinized buckets with the sunflowers. What is your expert opinion? I like color, but I don’t want to overdo it!!!

Thanks!!!”

Kristen, I think the idea of pairing the bright pink with yellow and green is a great idea. Since you like all of the colors, why not? They are bright and very beautiful together. I also like the idea of using citrus fruit in cylinder vases with the hydrangea on top! For the bouquets, you could create them using yellow sunflowers, green ranunculus, and accent with pink hydrangea. If you wanted to incorporate some black, you could always wrap a black ribbon around the bouquet stems. If you want to keep with the bright colors, wrap a yellow ribbon around the stems and accent with pink pins. I hope this helps!

Sarah’s Sangria, Pink, and Green Wedding Inspiration Board

Sarah writes:
“Hello,

My wedding is August 21st 2010. I have picked the Sangria color from Davids Bridal for my Bridesmaids. This color is driving me nuts. I LOVE it, but I am having a hard time matching it to flowers. I am also having a hard time picking other accent colors. I like a light/bright green color next to it. I am a pretty BRIGHT color loving person. I am also wondering if pinks could go with this color? Pink is my favorite color.

Thanks so much for your help :)
Sarah”

Sarah, what a beautiful color bridesmaids dress! I created your inspiration board with violet colored flowers that match the dress as well as greens and pinks — since these were the colors you were interested in. I actually think all 3 colors look beautiful together. The green and pink add a bright touch to the contrast of the darker purple flowers. For the bouquets, why not create them using the pink and green roses, and accent with the violet dahlia or gerbera daisies — all gorgeous flowers! I hope this helps gives you some ideas!

Kaity’s Turquoise and Coral Wedding Inspiration Board

Kaity writes:
“Hello,

I’m hoping you can help me with some floral ideas for my reception. My husband and I were married last month in a private ceremony in Alaska, but we will be celebrating with friends and family in March in El Paso, Texas. My inspiration for the coral/turquoise color scheme comes from my mother’s shawl that I wore for our ceremony. These colors are also reflected in our local landscape here in the desert and in the Mexican papel picado decorations commonly seen at parties. Ideally I’d like to find some flowers that will be in season in March and not too hard to find in this area.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!
Kaity”

Kaity, I created your inspiration board with flowers in turquoise, yellow, and shades of peach/coral. I used roses, ranunculus, gerbera daisies, and apple blossoms — all flowers that should be available for you in March. I think your bouquets would look beautiful made up with turquoise ranunculus, peach and yellow roses, and peach gerbera daisies or apple blossoms. You can then wrap a turquoise ribbon around the bouquet stems and accent with pearl pins. I hope you like your board!

Kathryn’s Orange, Yellow, and Blue Wedding Inspiration Board

Kathryn writes:
“Hello!

I was wondering if you could help me with an inspiration board for flowers for my fall 2010 wedding. I love daisies (shasta? not gerbera). I’m also very fond of the two-toned yellow/orange roses. The hall is very bright with lots of blues and some dark ivy. It also looks out over the water. While I love this, I also want to incorporate some bright fall colors in addition to the blues, silvers, and greys painted around the room. Would adding smaller blue flowers in the bouquets help tie it all together?

Thanks for your help,
Kathryn”

Kathryn, I created your inspiration board with flowers in yellow, orange, and touches of blue. Since your dresses and the hall are blue, I think adding a small hint of blue to the bouquets would be very pretty. Plus blue and orange making a striking combination! You could create your bouquets using the orange yellow roses, orange dahlia, yellow roses, mums, and add in a small cornflower or cosmo flower in blue. Finish the bouquets off by wrapping the stems with an orange ribbon and accenting that with blue pins. I hope this helps give you some ideas!
