Kristina’s Black and Tealness Wedding Inspiration Board
Kristina writes:
“Hello! I am having a hard time choosing my colors and flowers because I don’t want everything to look fake or dyed. Can you help me? I have chosen my bridesmaids’ dresses in “tealness” from Alfred Angelo, and my other color is black with silver accents. I do not like the “Tiffany blue” color or pink in any shade, but that is all I have seen that go along with teal. Any other suggestions that don’t look too fake, dyed, or pink? I know I definitely want white roses, since they are my favorite, but anything else I am open to. Maybe I should go with chocolate brown instead of black? I know I am complicated…please help!
Sincerely,
Kristina, Bride-to-be”
Kristina, I definitely think you should stick with black and silver for the accent colors. Both of these next to the tealness will look just amazing. I created your inspiration board using a few different colors. My first thought was to pair up your white roses with a deep eggplant purple. You could stick with eggplant roses, or thrown in a differnt flower, say eggplant gerbera daisies or ranunculus. If the purple is too dark for you, you could also pair the tealness, black, and silver with either green or yellow — all of which I put on your board! I hope this helps!

Dress from Alfred Angelo.

Tiffany’s Peacock Wedding Flower Inspiration Board
Tiffany writes:
“Hi,
My wedding is in September ‘09 in St. Louis and I’m having a hard time finding flowers to match my “peacock” colors. We are using a dark eggplant purple as the main color with jewel tone bright blue and emerald green as the accents. And yes, there will be peacock feathers involved.
We’re trying to avoid lime green and bringing in another color, like red – I’m afraid of color overload. What *dark* purple flowers are out there that will coordinate well with peacock feathers to create a strong, dark bouquet?
Thanks!
Tiffany”
Tiffany, I created your inspiration board using mostly eggplant purples as well as a few blue tones. I included several different flower types that would work well together such as anemone, peonies, calla lilies, and roses. I also added some peacock feathers (so you could see the colors next to it), ribbon, and green pins. I hope this helps!

Items used to create Tiffany’s board from Afloral.com (clockwise starting at top left):
26″ Large Open Rose Spray in Eggplant – SLK-FSR168-EP

Amber’s Asian Theme Wedding Flower Inspiration Board
Amber writes:
“Hello!
My name is Amber, and I am the Matron of Honor for my friends upcoming wedding in April 2010. She is currently considering an Asian theme wedding, with colors of red, pink, black, and ivory. Her dress is ivory, and the bridesmaids dresses will be either black, or red. I think she is open to almost any kind of flowers. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Amber”
Amber, I created your inspiration board using roses, gerbera daisies, and calla lilies — all in red, pink, and ivory. You could pick one, two, or even a combination of all three flowers for the wedding arrangements. Perhaps if you wanted all 3 colors in the bouquets, you could pick a different color per flower type. I also added some black accents to your board, including black bamboo which will go great with the Asian theme. I hope this helps!

Dress from Alfred Angelo.

Caroline’s Blue and Green Peacock Wedding Inspiration Board
Caroline writes:
“I’m having my wedding in April of next year, and am having trouble deciding on flowers that will compliment the blues and greens of peacock feathers. I have an ivory wedding dress, and was thinking of having the bridesmaids do black dresses with different blues/greens as the accents, but haven’t decided fully on the black yet..
Main thing here is that I want it to be fun! (but not outlandish)
Any help is appreciated!
Caroline”
Caroline, I love it! I made your inspiration board using all blues and greens in a few different flower types. You really could do any combination of the flowers, alternating the blue and green colors. If you wanted to, you could also add some peacock feathers to the bouquets as well. If you would like to bring in the black accents, you could always wrap a black ribbon around the bouquet stems! I hope this helps!

Items used to create Caroline’s board from Afloral.com (clockwise starting at top left):
9″ Gerbera Daisy Spray in Soft Green – SLK-GTD445-GR/SO
2 lb Bag of Ice Blue Gems – PAN-70110

Christy’s Rustic Eggplant, Pear, Brown, & Ivory Inspiration Board
Christy writes:
“Hi LeAnne,
I can’t tell you how excited I am to have found Afloral.com! You rock!
My wedding ceremony is September 12, 2009 and the reception is September 26, 2009. I would so appreciate your expertise with an inspiration board including our colors: eggplant, pear or chartreuse, tan, brown, and ivory.
The reception is in our home state of Indiana and does not include a formal meal. Table linens are white and there are white lights strung in a windowed, wood-beamed clubhouse overlooking a lake, with a large wrap-around deck. For our reception centerpieces we were thinking of including some of our favorite things like wine bottles and coffee beans with a rustic, simply beautiful feel.
I look forward to your ideas and advice!
Thanks so much,
Christy”
Christy, sounds absolutely beautiful!! I made up your inspiration board with all the wedding colors you mentioned. I kept the flower simply, only using roses and gerberas, but of course, feel free to change or add any flowers you like. I used these flowers in an eggplant, green, brown, and ivory color. I hope you like it and helps with your wedding flower planning!
