I really need some help with flower ideas for my November 2009 wedding. I chose a fall wedding because I love the bright flaming red and orange colors of the season. I’m trying to focus mainly on the fall colors and using fall themed objects (leaves, etc.) as accents.

I’d like very bright oranges and reds in my boquet, but I’m stumped when it comes to my bridesmaids. They are each wearing a different apple red dress from David’s Bridal with chocolate brown shoes. I’m worried that red flowers will blend in too much with their dresses and that the bright oranges I want in my boquet will clash. Their boquets don’t have to mirror mine, but I’m not sure which flowers and colors would compliment mine. Any ideas?

Amanda, I think a nice mix of reds and oranges will look fantastic! I don’t think the orange will clash at all, especially if you combine orange and red along with a flame colored flower (flame is a beautiful red-orange). I used all these colors on your inspiration board along side an apple red dress from David’s Bridal — this way you can see how it will all look. If you want to tone down the reds and oranges, you could always throw in a chocolate brown flower — it will also bring out the color of the bridesmaid’s shoes. I hope you like your board!

Tina, since the only colors you mentioned was the bridal attire in ivory and gold, I made your board using a few different colors. I used mostly orchid flowers as they are so unique and beautiful as well as a great seaside/tropical flower. I would suggest a nice mix of cream/ivory flowers with blues and soft greens. You could throw in hints of a purple, pink, or even orange flower to brighten the bouquets. Use a ribbon wrapped around the bouquet stems to bring in the gold. I hope this helps and gives you some ideas!

Sandy, I created your inspiration board using a few different blue as well as peachy-coral accent flowers. I, of course, included a few gerbera daisies and a couple other flower types that are still simple but beautiful. I also included some ribbon, pins, and even feathers, if you would like to add the extra touch to your bouquets! I hope you like it.
