Elizabeth’s Pink Wedding Flower Inspiration Board

Elizabeth writes:
“Hello,
My colors are watermelon, rose petal, and pink.  I don’t want any other colors in the girls flowers.  I want some white flowers thrown into mine.  How many flowers for each bouquet do I need?  Can you show me some flower options to put together?
Elizabeth”

Elizabeth, I created an inspiration board for you using all the pink shades of your wedding flowers.  I also included a white gerbera daisy, since you would like some white in the bridal bouquet.  Of course, you can use any flower type you’d like!  For the bouquets, I would recommend using 6-8 flowers for the bridesmaids, and 8-12 for the bridal, depending on how much larger you would like it.  I hope you like your board!  Feel to ask any other questions.

Anna’s Navy and Orange Wedding Inspiration Board

Anna writes:
“Hi, LeAnne!

My name is Anna, and my fiance and I are getting married May 29, 2010, in Salisbury, MD.  Our ceremony is in our home church.  Wedding plans are far from definite, but this is what I have in mind: Navy bridesmaid dresses (possibly with a light blue sash).  A white, A-line wedding dress.  Navy suits for the groomsmen.  And, my groom will be in his Marine dress uniform.  As for flowers, orange gerbera daisies are my favorite.  I want these to be the main flower.  But, since the wedding is Memorial Day weekend and my fiance will have the red stripe in his uniform, I was wondering if mixing in some red gerberas and white flowers would look okay.  What are your thoughts?  Any recommendations or other suggestions are very welcome!!!

Thank you so much!
Anna”

Anna, first, I love the idea of orange gerbera daisies next to the color navy blue!  You can definitely incorporate some red and white in your wedding flowers as well.  The red and orange are very complimenting colors and the white will tone it down a bit as well as add a nice contrast.  Maybe finish off your bouquets with a bit of navy blue ribbon — or navy and orange!  I created your board using all 3 colors in gerbera daisies as well as added a couple ribbon and a red container, just in case.  I kept the board simple, however (as I’m sure you have noticed) I have used the back of your gown-to-be for the board background!  Love it!  If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask!

Emily’s Colorful Wedding Flower Inspiration Board

Emily writes:
“Hi LeAnne,

My name is Emily. I’ve been tossing and turning on how to accomplish a budget of $5000 wedding and so far I’m doing fairly ok.  My favorite flowers are Gerberas, Roses, Peonies and Hydrangeas. My first thought was to do bouquet in each other to match the bridesmaid’s made dress. So Fuchsia with Fuchsia, Orange with Orange, Etc… However I’m thinking that might be too much.  So with that said What do I do for my Bouquet? I don’t want white.  And I don’t want a bouquet that doesn’t go with the colors or theme.  I’m thinking I want my flowers to match some how in some way in accordance with their dresses but not look like it’s too busy. Attached is my desired wedding dress as well. Can you help? Also what about centerpieces and color for the reception. I’d love to have similar color to the bridesmaid dresses but again not look too busy.  If you think a color would look better than one lets says Green instead of Purple…go ahead and suggest it. I rather make it match and romantic and beautiful rather than tacky…

Thanks for your help,
Emily

P.S. I love your website and especially the inspiration board. This is great help to relax the bride with some professional advice.”

Emily, okay, here is my suggestions.  I begin by selecting 2 main flowers for all of your wedding arrangements.  My choice, would be to use roses and gerberas, since they are available in a wide variety of colors and go well together.  For the bridesmaids, I would use white roses, and colored gerberas matching their dresses (as you mentioned above, pink with pink, orange with orange).  Use a white ribbon around the bouquet stems.  For your bouquet, you could do almost the exact same thing, but instead of one color for the gerbs, incorporate all 4 wedding colors.  So, white roses with pink, purple, blue, and orange gerbera daisies.  Pick your favorite color and use this color for your bouquet ribbon.  For your centerpieces, I would stick with the same idea as your bridal bouquet.  Use white roses with gerberas in all 4 colors.  For the rest of the reception decor (napkins, tablecloths, etc), I would stick with white tablecloths and use the 4 colors for your accent pieces — keep the accent pieces to a minimum however, using white for large pieces and the colors for the accents throughout.  Example, one color for the gems — keep all the gems the same — one color for the napkins, one for the matchbooks, and use the 4th color in the decor on something small.  I hope this information and inspiration board helps!  I would love to see pics of your wedding arrangements and reception when it’s all decoration!
