“My friend has this gold lame bridesmaid dress.  What should the color scheme be?  I thought of reds and oranges.  Would that be too much for such a vibrant color as gold?  The wedding will be in August in the Caribbean.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Caroline – a wedding in August in the Caribbean??  I think a nice mix reds and oranges with hints of flame would be perfect!  I used all reds and oranges on your inspiration board so you could see the colors next to the dress.  I also chose mainly tropical flowers, since the wedding is in the Caribbean after all!  If you would like to tone down the colors a bit, you can always add in a little purple.  I also included a purple orchid on the inspiration board as well.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

” Hi, I came across this site and loved all of your inspiration boards and was hoping that you could come up with mine.  My wedding is in Disney World, EPCOT, within the Italy courtyard.  My colors are a royal blue, white, and silver.  My wedding is also in December.  I originally thought of going with red flowers since it’s so close to Christmas, but thought that looked too patriotic, so really I’m open to any ideas.  Thank you so much!

Michelle, you could go with red flowers if you’d like, however I suggest more of a burgundy color.  This will make your wedding a bit less patriotic.  Plus, burgundy and silver are great “Christmas” colors.  Other then red flowers, I would suggest going with the three main colors of your wedding that you mentioned — royal blue, silver, and white.  In my opinion, these are all “Christmas” colors as well, plus they are great “winter” colors.  You could have more blues in your bouquet and more white in the bridesmaids bouquets.  To tie in the silver and bring more sparkle to your bouquets, you could wrap the stems with silver ribbon as well as add silver jewels to the bouquets!  I created your inspiration board with mostly blues and whites, but I also added a few burgundy stems so you could see what they look like next to the royal blue.  I hope you enjoy your board!

I absolutely love your inspirational boards!  I am having a black and white wedding.  I am having a little trouble with choosing what kind of flower.  It is a fall wedding.  I really like roses and am leaning toward having a black and white rose bouquet.  But am wanting help with that WOW factor!  Also any help with centerpiece ideas would be GREAT!

Kelli, if you are looking to bring a little “wow” into your wedding flowers, why not add a hint of color?  Just as an accent.  You could add touches of orange or yellow as it is a fall wedding, or even a fuchsia pink to really stand out against the black and white.  You could incorporate a few brightly colored flowers into your bouquet, or simply add a bright ribbon wrapped around the bouquet stems!  For the centerpieces, you could use square vases, fill them with the black river rocks, put a few short flowers into the glass container — say you went with roses, you could put 2 open roses into the the vase, just tall enough for the flower head to be above the side of the vase.  Then you could wrap the colored ribbon around the base of the square container (like the photo below just with roses!).  Or you could use a tall then vase and place a few pieces of black bamboo along with 1-3 tall white roses.  Very modern.  I hope this helps!
