“Hello there,

I am so confused because I cannot figure out what type of flowers to put together for my theme wedding.  Can you help me please?  I am having a Winter Wonderland/Solstice theme wedding.  The colors range from light blue to royal blue with a hint of light pink.  I am using a lot of snowflakes, twilight blue and ice glitter, royal blue, and of course, white.

My wedding isn’t until January 2010 but I need any help I can get now so I have a better idea about how we would like the wedding to look.  I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thank you.
Laura”

Laura, I used a combination of roses, hydrangeas, and gerbera daisies on your winter wonderland wedding inspiration board in all 3 of your wedding colors.  I just think that these 3 flower types are beautiful together and have a nice winter look — especially with the royal blue and white!    I also included a blue anemone, because this to me is a stunning blue flower.  You really could do any combination of these flowers and colors together in a beautiful bouquet, maybe doing only hints of pink with 2 roses or a couple smaller clusters of hydrangeas.  You could incorporate more pink by wrapping the bouquet stems with pink ribbon, or use a blue ribbon to really make the blue in the bouquets “pop!”  If you want to add some glitter to your arrangements, you can actually purchase a glitter spray paint for silk flowers!  We unfortunately don’t sell it, but it is available at most local craft stores.  I hope this board gives you some inspiration!

Mallory’s Purple, Ivory, & Brown Inspiration Board

Mallory writes:
“Hello,

I am getting married July 10, 2010.  Our colors of right now are purple, ivory, and brown.I saw an inspiration board you did with a purple peony and thought it was beautiful.  I also want to use hydrangea and love ranunculus.  Please help me with ideas for flower arrangements and give any pointers.

Thanks bunches!
Mallory”

Mallory, I create your inspiration board using ranunculus, peonies, and threw in some roses and magnolias as well.  After I finished your board, I realized I didn’t add any hydrangeas.  I’m sorry!  But we offer a fantastic premium hydrangea, (item GTH402) in several different colors.  After you have chosen a few flowers for arrangements, you can select the color hydrangea you feel would compliment best.  Perhaps a cream/ivory hydrangea, a deep purple, or even a light shade of purple for a bit of a contrast!  In my opinion, I like the idea of combining the deep purple peony, the chocolate ranunculus, and the ivory magnolia.  Then, fill in with the hydrangea color of your choice!  For centerpieces, you could use glass cubes, fill them with purple beads, and add a couple short flowers — say a peony and magnolia flower head.  Or alternate with a peony and magnolia, then the ranunculus and hydrangea.  They are all such gorgeous flowers on their own, that the simpler the better for the centerpieces!  I hope this gives you some ideas.  Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions!

Megan’s Deep Purple Wedding Inspiration Board

Megan writes:
“Hello!  I am needing help choosing wedding flowers.  It seems like I have looked at a million different flowers and haven’t had any luck yet.  My bridesmaids dresses are a deep purple.  We are getting married September 19th of this year.  I don’t really have any “accent” colors chosen yet, was thinking silver possibly.  Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Thank you.
Megan”

Megan, since you didn’t have an accent color chosen yet, I created your board using deep purple with green accents, and hints of silver.  I thought green was a nice complimenting color — right in between summer and fall — beautiful, but won’t take away from the deep purple.  I chose a few different flower types — roses, ranunculus, and some orchids if you would like to add an exotic touch to the arrangements.  I thought you could bring in the silver by using silver centerpiece containers, silver pins, or even silver ribbon wrapped around the stems of your bouquets.  I hope you like the green accent color!  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me.

Leslie’s Fall Wedding Flower Inspiration Board

Leslie writes:
“Hi LeAnne

I am getting married October 24 in the Texas Hill Country, and with all the fall foliage around us I am stumped as to what flowers we should surround ourselves with!  Our wedding colors are burgundy, gold, copper, and chocolate brown, and I would like to incorporate my fiances state flower, the sunflower into the mix.  Our invitations and favors all have an autumn leaf motif.  HELP!  We need to tie everything together.

Leslie”

Leslie, I create your inspiration board with a few different flower types — including the sunflower — in your wedding colors.  For the copper, since it such a hard color to find in flowers, I used flame or brick colors flowers (which you will also see on the board).  I think a nice mix of all four colors will be perfect for your fall setting as well as capture all the beauty and colors of the foliage around you.  You could even add some preserved fall leaves to your bouquets to really tie everything together.  Keep the bouquets simple with a nice hand-tied design and wrap those stems up with a matching ribbon!  I hope this helps.  If you need anything else, please feel free to ask!

C.L.’s Purple & Ivory Wedding Inspiration Board

C.L. writes:
“Hi LeAnne!  I am the decorator for a wedding that is taking place in early September.  I was on your website and am very interested in using you guys for all of our floral needs.  I would love if you could do an inspiration board for me.  Now, we are doing the reception in ivory with small splashes of the dark purple and lavender.  Thank you.
C.L.”

C.L., I created your inspiration board with a variety of flowers in ivory, lavender, and purple.  You could mix any of these flower together to create beautiful bouquets.  Keeping the bride’s bouquet simple with ivory rose — perhaps add another ivory flower type as well to make it all match.  For the centerpieces, maybe you could get large square vases, fill them with purple gems, and place about 5 flowers in the vases as well — sticking out just a touch.  Or get tall ivory vases and stick a couple of deep purple peonies in it.  To incorporate the lavender, you could wrap a lavender ribbon around the vase.  I hope the inspiration board and ideas help.  Please feel free to ask any questions!

Tiffany Blue and Brown Wedding Flower Inspiration Board

In CategoryChocolate Palettes, Seaside Blues, Terrific Teals
ByLeAnne

“Having trouble deciding what flowers to use for an October wedding.  Colors will be tiffany blue and brown.  Would like to see your suggestions.
Thank you.
Mother of the Bride”

On this inspiration board, I paired the tiffany blue and brown flowers with cream.  If you would like to add a bit more color to the wedding flowers, you could add a 3rd color, such as yellow or fuchsia pink.  I included one of each on the board as well.  Since there aren’t very many blue flowers out there, you could bring in more blue tones by adding a blue ribbon around your bouquet stems, using tiffany blue pins in the bouquet or in the ribbon, or using blue container for your reception centerpieces.  Oh, I also added peacock feathers to this inspiration board because 1. they are simply gorgeous and 2. they have that bright blue color as well as the brown tones!  I hope this helps!

Brandi’s Canary Yellow, White, & Silver Inspiration Board

ByLeAnne

Brandi writes:
“Hello LeAnne,
I am getting married next summer, July 2010 to be exact, and I am doing all of the decorating myself, even down to the bridal bouquets and corsages, including the decor for the ceremony and reception.  Since this is my first wedding and I have never really worked with flowers, I really need some advice on what flowers to use.  I want my wedding to be very simple, dainty, and feminine.  I don’t want it to be flashy.  The colors that I have chosen are canary yellow, silver, and white.  I would GREATLY appreciate the help!!!  :)
Thanks,
Brandi”

Brandi, for your inspiration board I only chose a couple flower types and kept it very simple for you.  I select white and yellow roses, gerbera daisies, ranunculus, and a mini cosmos spray.  To me, all these flowers are summery, dainty, and beautiful.  I think a nice combination of any of these — perhaps the ranunculus and gerberas with baby cosmo accents — will be perfect!  You can arrange these in a silver bouquet holder, or for a simpler look, just make a hand-tied bouquet and wrap the stems with a silver ribbon.  You could use silver containers for your receptions — maybe a tall thin vase with 2-3 flowers and some branches — for a simple, modern look.  I hope this helps!
