Samantha’s Claret Red and White Wedding Inspiration Board

“I need help!!  I’m getting married April 3, 2010 at dusk on the lake in Gainesville, FL.  My dress is white with a splash of claret.  My bridesmaids dresses are also claret.
I love calla lilies and want a simple bouquet design for me and the bridesmaids.  Can you help me”
Thanks so much!
Samantha”

I put a few different flower types on your inspiration board in red and white.  Since you love calla lilies, I would suggest having the callas as your main flower (either red or white) and to chose another flower type in the opposite colors.  Rose are always a great wedding choice, and gerbera daisies are a great simple flower.  I also through in a tropical style bouquet which is also simple yet stunning!

If you decided you wanted to use only calla lilies, that work well too.  You could just use both red and white in the bouquets — perhaps a little more white for the bridesmaids and a bit more red for yours.

As a finishing touch you can wrap your bouquet stems with a ribbon.  Black would look nice if you decide to incorporate it into your wedding colors.  Or perhaps a white ribbon with black head pins — stunning.  Red ribbon if you would like the red to stand out!  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

Anna’s September Gold and Bronze Wedding Inspiration Board

Anna writes:
“Hi…your website and inspiration boards are so helpful and I’m hoping you can help me out as well for my upcoming wedding in September.
I haven’t finalized a them for my wedding but I am looking at gold/bronze bridesmaids dresses and accents in ivory with green or pinks.  My dilemma is that I’m trying to achieve a modern, elegant look with my decor so sleek flowers like orchids and calla lilies would probably work well but at the same time I have a major soft spot for more traditional full flowers (fluffy!) like peonies, dahlias, and big garden roses.
Is there a way to “‘marry” the two for a cohesive floral wedding design?  I’d love some suggestions.
Thank you!
Anna”

Anna, if you like both sleek and fluffy flowers, then absolutely include both in your bouquets!  I will include a photo with your inspiration board of a gorgeous bouquet made with roses, peonies, and calla lilies.  The peonies/roses will give your arrangement the traditional romantic feel and the callas/orchids will add that modern touch.  I would suggest going with peonies, roses — or both of course — and adding just either the orchids or the callas.

As for the colors, I think you have chosen a beautiful combination.  You really could incorporate all of these colors in you arrangements — as you’ll see on your board.  Sorry, we don’t have anything bronze, but it will look stunning along side everything else.  However, if you don’t want so many different colors, you could have ivory and green flowers with the metal accents for a softer look — or ivory and pink with the metals for a brighter look.

“I would like your help with this upcoming wedding August 22, 2009.  From this I will order my flowers and materials I need.  [The colors are candy pink, champagne, and silver.]
Thank you,
Phyllis”

Phyllis, I wasn’t sure what type of flowers you were looking for, so I put a few different ones on your inspiration board.  I selected a mix of gerbera daisies, hydrangeas, roses, and even a stargazer lily — one of my favorites.  Most of the flowers I choose in a pink color along with accents in champagne and cream.  I also included some silver and pink ribbons as well as containers, and decorative pins.  I hope this helps you choose your flowers.  If you need anything else, please let me know.

Martiese’s Tiffany Blue, White, and Silver Inspiration Board

In CategoryMetallics, Seaside Blues, Terrific Teals, Whites & Ivories

Martiese writes:
“Hello!!!  My name is Martiese and I am getting married June 19th 2010.  I know it’s early to be deciding on floral arrangements, but I’m a DIY type of person and like to be way ahead of the game.  My wedding colors are “Tiffany Blue, Silver, and White.”  Any help with flower designs will be greatly appreciated.  I love the white hydrangeas and the turquoise gerberas that are on your site.  If you can somehow put this together for an inspiration board for me will be greatly appreciated.  Again thanks.
Martiese”

Martiese, easy enough — I created your inspiration board with the tiffany blue gerbera daisies and white hydrangeas.  I added a white rose as well as some blue and silver accents.  I think creating your bouquet using the gerberas and filling in with the white hydrangeas will not only be easy to create, but look stunning as well.  If you decide not to use a bouquet holder, you can always wrap the flower stems with some ribbon and add silver pins.  I am also going to post a photo of a white hydrangea bouquet with ribbon around the stems for you to see.  Just picture this bouquet with some gerberas — beautiful!

Whitney’s Fall Wedding Flower Inspiration Board

In CategoryCitrus & Sunset Colors, Fall Scenes, Radiant Reds & Wines
ByLeAnne

Whitney writes:
“Hi LeAnne my name is Whitney I am getting married August 15, 2009 and having a fall themed wedding.  Our colors are claret (the primary color), burnt orange, gold, and black accents.  I am having a really hard time finding flowers to use for my corsages and boutonnieres.  I would really like help picking out flowers to go with my bouquets.

I was hoping you could help me come up with some good ideas for my corsages, boutonnieres, and my decorations for the church.  Any help would be great.

Thank you.
Whitney”

Whitney, I think I found some flowers that will be a great match for your bouquets!  I would suggest for using a single calla lily or rose flower for the boutonnieres, and one of each for the corsages.  Clip the stems down, wrap them with a little floral tape and some ribbon and you are ready to pin them on!  I would suggest the butterscotch calla lily with the red or orange roses.  For your church arrangements, you could arrange pomander balls with the roses and calla lilies — making the arrangements very similar to your bouquets.  Or, we have a great black design bowl you could make the arrangements in as well.  Check it out:  VAC-490 BLACK (it’s available in black pearl too).  One more thought, you could also use tall thin vases for your church decorations, fill the bottom with stones or gems, and just use a few stems of each flower.  If you have any questions, please let me know!

“This is a great thing you’re doing :)   Here is a picture of my dress I like creative things so knock yourself out  ;)  (it’s the orange one).  Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.”

Wow that is a gorgeous and fun wedding dress, I love it!  I kept with bright, bold, and colorful flowers for your inspiration board – of course, the orange and adding some fuchsia and bright greens.  I would suggest picking a main flower — ex. roses, ranunculus, or daisies — and then add something exotic and bold to the mix such as the orchids or the lilies.  Then, you can wrap your flower stems with a fuchsia ribbon and insert citrus colored pins for even more color!   You could even create your bouquets using only the pinks and greens to really make you flowers pop against your wedding dress!  I hope you like your board.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Kelsey’s Victorian Lilac Wedding Flower Inspiration Board

“Hi, I needed help figuring out flowers for my wedding.  I ran across this site and saw the boards and thought you could help me.
I am pretty sure I want all calla lilies, but once again I am not 100% sure.  My colors are lilac, victorian lilac, and ivory.  I am getting married in October.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!!!
Kelsey”

Kelsey, I created your board with a few different flower types as well as the calla lilies you would like in your wedding.  You could simply created bouquet using the ivory and purple calla lilies, however it might look nice to add another accent flower.  Perhaps the light purple roses and ivory callas with sweetpea accents and nice ribbon wrapped around the bouquet stems.  Or the ivory calla lilies with a small amount of purple hydrangea as an accent?  Wrap the stems with a ivory ribbon and use lilac colored pins for that extra touch.  You could also create your centerpieces using the ivory calla in a glass vase with gems and the submersible floralytes.  The lighting will make the centerpieces very romantic and the callas look stunning!
