Krista’s Blue and Lavender Inspiration Board

Krista writes:
“Hi LeAnne,
Love the afloral site, especially the inspiration boards.  I have been going back and forth between a variety of flowers and hope you may be able to help me a little.  I have 3 colors, Cobalt Blue, Pool, and Lavender, we chose Alfred Angelo style 6308 in those colors.  I would really appreciate any help in coming up with some flower combinations for my attendants.
Thanks.
Krista”

Krista,
Thanks for the email and the pictures of your bridesmaids dresses.  I have combination 2 of the photos, so I could fit all 3 colors onto your inspiration board.  Since you are using 3 colors in the dresses, I would recommend using a more neutral color for the flowers.  I have chosen a few different cream colored flowers for you board.  I also included some flower stems in the colors of the dresses if you would like to incorporate them as well — however I would keep the flower color to a minimum.  My other suggestion for the flowers would be to chose a main flower type (roses), and purchase these in cream (or a neutral tone).   Then, select a secondary accent flower and use 1, or all, of the colors of your dress.   Example:  Creamy roses accented with smaller blue, and lavender rose buds, with a pool blue ribbon to tie in all 3 colors.  Or, if you want to flip the colors a little — the pool blue gerbera daisies accented with cream and blue cosmo flowers (I forgot to put this on the board!  Sorry!  Here is the link to that though, SLK-GTC897-BL), and a lavender ribbon.

Rachel’s Wine & Vineyard Inspired Wedding Flower Board

Rachel writes:
“My name is Rachel and I am getting married this fall on September 25, 2009.  We are having a wine/vineyard themed wedding and I was hoping for some help with flowers and ideas.

My favorite flower is a calla lily and I want color in my bouquet.  My girls dresses are wine from David’s Bridal and I want them to have green or cream colored flowers to match the ivory in my dress and my bouquet to have greens, ivory, and the wine color.  Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Rachel”

This inspiration board has been one of my favorite so far.  I think a wine/vineyard theme is beautiful, romantic, not to mention gorgeous, for a wedding.  As mentioned, Rachel’s favorite flower is the calla lily, so I chose wine and cream calla lilies and paired them with some vintage style roses, ivy, and of course, grapes!  Rachel, the calla lilies pictured on your board also come in a green and light green if you would like to incorporate those as well.  Now, without further ado, Rachel’s board…
