Chaise’s Inspiration Board
Chaise writes:
“What a wonderful webpage to find randomly after looking at Afloral for over an hour trying to decide on wedding flower combinations. I am getting married April 11th.
I think I’m set on Hydrangea blue or lavender (or both) bouquet because they have been my favorite flowers since I was a child. Whatever flowers I add I would like to also put in my hair, and have boutonnieres and perhaps corsages in the same theme?
My overall theme for the wedding is ‘abalone shell’. Can you help??”
Chaise, for some reason this board was the most challenging for me yet. Don’t ask me why, but it was. However, I had a blast doing it and hope you like what I came up with. I choose the blue and lavender hydrangeas you mentioned and paired them with lavender and white phalaenopsis orchids and white freesias. I figured the orchids added an exotic touch and then you could use them for your hair piece and boutonnieres. Oh, and I tossed in a lavender wisteria bush because I think it is such a wispy romantic flower, and I thought you might like it too. I looked up the abalone shell, and found it gorgeous with all the different colors — I included it on your board as well. ;)

Loretta’s Inspiration Board
Loretta writes:
“Dear LeAnne,
I recently saw a couple of your inspiration boards on the Afloral blog. I would like to know if you can give me an idea of which flowers would look well with David’s Bridal lapis color. Wedding is in mid-April and I want to use a spring mix of roses, etc. Thank you.
Loretta”
I just love this color, lapis, from David’s bridal. What a fantastic purple! I have created a board using a purple color palette — on the left I used antique lavenders paired with light greens, and on the right I choose a simple mix of lavender blooms along with creamy white roses. I hope you like your board Loretta!!

Dress from David’s Bridal.
